Windows Live Mail Setup
- Open Windows Live Mail.
- You will be prompted to create an email account:
- In the E-Mail Address Field, enter your MetroCast email address (for example; user@[state].metrocast.net)
- Set Password to your old Mediacom email password.
- Set Display Name to the name you want to appear in email sent from this account. Click Next when done.
- Enter your Account Settings as described below:
- My incoming mail server is a POP server
- Incoming server: pop.[state].metrocast.net
- Port: 110
- This server requires a secure connection (SSL) should be unchecked
- Log on using: Clear Text Authentication.
- Login ID is your MetroCast email address (example; user@[state].metrocast.net)
- Outgoing Server: smtp.state.metrocast.net
- Port: 25
- This Server Requires a Secure Connection (SSL) should be unchecked
- My Outgoing Server Requires Authentication should be unchecked.
- Click Next when done
- You should now get a success message. Please continue by clicking on Finish
- You will now get a message that your folders are downloading. When that download is complete, please continue.
- Please verify that your folders are correct, then click OK
- You should now be able to send and receive emails
