MetroCast Communications, the video, Internet and phone provider with customers in seven states, has announced the addition of nineDisney/ABC-owned networks to its “TV Everywhere” on-line video offering. MetroCast customers who subscribe to the services will now have free, unlimited online access to ABC, ABC Family, Disney, Disney Junior, Disney XD, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN News and ESPNU. The networks are viewable on desktop, laptop, as well as various iOS and Android™ mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets, as well as other video streaming platforms.*
The addition of the ABC networks brings the MetroCast “TV Everywhere” offering to over 60 channels, including HBO GO® and MAX GO®, Showtime Anytime®, A&E, Bravo, Cartoon Network, CMT, CNN, Comedy Central, Fox, Fox News, FX, Hallmark, History, Lifetime, MTV, National Geographic Channel, NBC, MSNBC, NBC Sports Network, NFL Network, Nick, Nick Jr., SEC Network, Spike, Sprout, Syfy, TBS, Turner Classic Movies, TNT, USA, and more (for a complete list of available networks, see http://portal.metrocast.net/tv/3/browse/networks/).*

To access the networks online, MetroCast customers subscribing to the services simply log onto http://portal.metrocast.net/. Customers may also visit the network websites or download mobile apps for the networks where available.

MetroCast Communications, the video, Internet and phone provider serving customers in New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and South Carolina, has announced a significant speed enhancement for its residential, broadband high speed data (HSD) customers, boosting its top downstream speed from 50 Mbps to up to 75 Mbps.
MetroCast has increased its top Internet speed five times in the last six years, and tripled it in the last three years. The 75 Mbps MetroCast offering is almost 7x faster than the national average* for downstream speeds.
“MetroCast customers now have access to the fastest Internet speeds available in our service areas,” said Josh Barstow, MetroCast’s Vice President for Advanced Services. “These speeds will allow customers to stream high definition video content on multiple devices and to enjoy other demanding consumer applications that require top broadband speeds for best performance.”
In addition to its residential Internet products, MetroCast also offers business-class fiber products—including Dedicated Internet Access and Point-to-Point—with high-capacity bandwidth and symmetrical speeds up to 1Gig.

MetroCast Communications, the video, Internet and phone provider located in Waterford Connecticut, has launched WiFi hotspots in New London, Plainfield and Killingly, CT. The hotspots will provide free, wireless web access to MetroCast residential customers already subscribing to MetroCast High Speed Internet or High Speed Ultra.MetroCast customers with wireless-enabled devices may access the WiFi signals from their smart phones, tablets, laptops and other wireless devices by selecting “CableWiFi” and logging- in with their MetroCast account credentials.One WiFi hotspot is located in New London at Toby May Park on Ocean Avenue. The second location is in Lions Park in downtown Plainfield. Nearby outdoor locations will have access to the WiFi signal. The third location is in the playground and parking lot areas of Owen Bell Park in Killingly.
MetroCast, which provides video, Internet and phone service to residents and businesses, also provides hotspots in its Maryland, Virginia, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania Markets. The hotspot deployment is the outside complement to MetroCast’s Wireless Home Networking option, which provides in-home WiFi service for MetroCast High Speed Internet customers on up to three computers and multiple wireless devices via a DOCSIS 3.0 modem with a built-in 802.11n wireless router. MetroCast has also announced that it will soon boost its residential High Speed Internet speeds up to 75 Mbps downstream.
MetroCast has been recognized by the Virginia Cable & Telecommunications Association with its annual Technology Award.
In making its announcement, VCTA praised MetroCast for "its outstanding contributions" to the VCTA and to the cable industry. The VCTA also took note of MetroCast's efforts to upgrade the infrastructure that serves Virginia customers. "[MetroCast] has spent millions of dollars rebuilding and expanding its service in rural Virginia. This company has also built more than 150 miles of Fiber Transport Backbone to interconnect these systems [and] now offers a full array of Advanced Services in these rural communities," the VCTA said.
The award was given at the annual meeting of the VCTA on November 11, 2014.
MetroCast customers who subscribe to SHOWTIME can now access their favorite SHOWTIME programming anywhere. Today, MetroCast Communications announced the launch of SHOWTIME ANYTIME, Showtime Networks' authentication service. SHOWTIME ANYTIME, available free with a SHOWTIME subscription, gives the network's subscribers unlimited on demand access to hundreds of hours of SHOWTIME programming on their computer, tablet, mobile device, Xbox 360 game console, or Apple TV, Roku and Amazon Fire TV streaming devices anywhere in the U.S. SHOWTIME ANYTIME also includes the live broadcast of both the East and West Coast feeds of SHOWTIME.
MetroCast customers can use SHOWTIME ANYTIME to watch current and past seasons of the network's award-winning original series including HOMELAND, DEXTER®, RAY DONOVAN, MASTERS OF SEX, PENNY DREADFUL, CALIFORNICATION, HOUSE OF LIES, WEB THERAPY, EPISODES and NURSE JACKIE, along with box office hits, hard-hitting sports, documentaries and specials, at home or on the go.

MetroCast customers who subscribe to SHOWTIME can login at portal.MetroCast.net using a current MetroCast e-mail address and password or by creating a new login and password. Once registered, customers can make their viewing selection and begin watching SHOWTIME content on the SHOWTIME ANYTIME website (www.ShowtimeAnytime.com), Xbox 360, Apple TV, Roku Streaming Player, Amazon Fire TV, or mobile apps. Mobile apps are available for Apple and Android devices as well as the Kindle Fire.
