MetroCast Collection Aids Food Bank11.08.16
Saluda, VA (November 8, 2016) – MetroCast Communications joined the Northern Neck Food Bank in collecting over 500 pounds of non-perishable food items for the #ConnectingtoEndHunger Food Drive.. The food drive was held from July through September at MetroCast’s Virginia office locations to benefit the Northern Neck Food Bank (nnfb.org).
According to the Northern Neck Food Bank, more than 8,700 residents in Essex, Lancaster, Middlesex, Northumberland, Richmond and Westmoreland counties are struggling with food insecurity, which means they have limited or uncertain access to an adequate supply of safe, nutritional food.
Norther Neck Food Bank is a nonprofit organization that relies on financial contributions to accomplish their mission of providing nutritious supplemental food to over 6,000 people each month. Since the Northern Neck Food Bank is not a government-funded agency, it relies upon the generosity of local people and businesses in our communities.
“Thank you to everyone who contributed to the #ConnectingtoEndHunger Food Drive to make it a success,” said MetroCast General Manager Bill Newborg. “We look forward to working with Northern Neck Food Bank in the future to help our local communities in the fight against hunger.”
