ONT Battery Testing Instructions - MD & VA Fiber-to-the-Home Customers: After you have purchased your Optical Network Terminal (ONT) replacement battery and it has been installed by a qualified MetroCast technician, you should use these instructions to periodically test the standby battery in the external power supply that provides power to your ONT to ensure it is operational in case of a commercial power outage.
